#Punchitup Creative Challenge

Hi Everyone, I would like to share with you my card that I have made for the Stampin' Up Demonstrator only Creative Challenge.  The challenge is to use the following punches on your card or project:
  • Pansy
  • Hearts Border
  • Fun Flower
  • Sweetheart
#PUNCHITUP

The background I made using the Striped Mask from the Dots and Stripes Mask pack and spritizing with a mix of Pink Pirouette Re-inker and Isocol Rubbing Alcohol.  I wanted just a touch of colour in the background and this turned out perfect.

I made the flower using the Fun Flower and Pansy Punches.  I punched out 3 of each using Pink Pirouette cardstock, misted them with water and layered them together and joined them with an Antique Brad.  I then folded the petals up and formed them around to make the flower.  Once dry I inked the edges with Soft Suede.  The Hearts Border Punch and the Sweetheart Punch were used to make the embellishments.

The little tag idea I found recently but cannot remember where I saw it, so apologies to the creator of the idea.

Bordering Blooms ...

Hi everyone, I would like to share with you my card that I made for the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.  The background is inspired by a card that Stampin' Up Artisan, Allison Okamitsu created using the new "Bohemian Borders" stamp set in neutrals.  You can see Allison's card here.  As I currently do not have this stamp set I made the background using the same watercolour and embossing technique using the "Bordering Blooms" stamp set.

I used a colour scheme of Rose Red, Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette for the watercolour wash.  I then stamped the images from the "Bordering Blooms" in Versamark and embossed with White Embossing Powder.

As I loved Allison's card so much I made another card in the same design using the colours Soft Suede, Tip Top Taupe, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand.

You've Got This

Hi everyone, another sneak peak at one of the stamp sets in the new Stampin' Up Catalogue available on 2 June 2015.  I have used the stamp set "You've Got This", it comes with a terrific background stamp the flower image and three sentiments.

For the flower on my card I embossed this with Silver on Basic Black cardstock then painted the inside of the flower with bleach.  I still had some bleach in a small screw top container on my table so I thought that I would try it and see what the end result was like.  I like the outcome so decided to make a monochromatic card, using some of the new Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim and a 2015-2017 Colour Blossom Accent to match to finish off my card.

Painting with Bleach Technique

Hi everyone, I would like to share with you one of my swaps that I made for the recent South Pacific Convention held at the Gold Coast, Queensland.

I used the painting with bleach technique.  The flowers are from the "Everything Eleanor" stamp set embossed with black on Early Espresso cardstock.  The middle of the flowers were then painted with bleach.  The sentiment is from the "Sassy Salutations" stamp set, stamped direct onto a piece of Very Vanilla DSP from the Neutrals Paper Stack in Early Espresso ink.  The Very Vanilla Candy Dots were backed with a small circle of Early Espresso cardstock made using the hand held 1/4" circle punch.

One little thing I learnt in making this card is that regular bleach (eg no scent) usually gives you a lighter colour of the cardstock that you are using, however I also had some Lemon Scented bleach that I also used and the lighter colour of the flowers had a slight lemon tinged to them.   I did not realise that I had the two bottles of bleach in the cupboard and could not work out why the colour was so different.  It was not until a couple of days later that I realised that I had the two bottles, one unscented and the other scented.  So I did an experiment to see if the scented bleach gave me the lemon tinged flowers, and it did.  Just thought I would share that little enlightening experience with you.

A Happy Blooming Birthday...

The challenge at The Card Concept is based on this inspirational photo.
Not too sure what category my card fits into "Shabby Chic" or "Classy & Elegant", probably trending more to the "Shabby Chic" category.  I had fun making this card using the emboss resist technique stamping the leaf image in Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossing with White Embossing Powder.  I then stamped the "Hardwood" background stamp with the new Tip Top Taupe ink over the top of the white embossed leaf image and sponged on Tip Top Taupe all over this piece.  The white embossed leaves popped from the background when I wiped off the excess ink.

The middle of the card was made using the Oval Framelits and the flowers were made using the "Flower Patch" stamp set and the coordinating die, with the leaves from the "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set which I fussy cut.  I used ink colours of Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral.

Happy Birthday, Everyone

Don't you just love Sneak Peaks.  This is the card that I made for the challenge at Can You Case It, using two of the new 2015-2017 In-colours Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder.  I sponged a piece of the Irresistibly Yours Speciality DSP with Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder, matted this piece onto Watermelon Wonder cardstock and then the Tip Top Taupe card base.  The sentiment is from the "Happy Birthday, Everyone" stamp set which I stamped with Versamark onto a piece of Tip Top Taupe and White embossed.  I added one of the new Blossom Accents to finish.  I am a bit excited about these new In-colours.

Sneak Peaks

I got home from the South Pacific 2015 Stampin' Up Convention late on Sunday and yesterday I had time to play with the new Bohemian DSP and the "I Think You're Great" that we were so lucky to receive. These are the two cards that I made.
