#simplestamping

Hi everyone, hope you all had a Merry Christmas.  I am sharing another #simplestamping card. This card would be great for a beginner stamper, with the layers being created just by stamping.

The stamp set is Sea of Textures, I love this stamp set with all the imagery especially the Octopus.  It does come with coordinating dies, but I left these in the cupboard out of temptations way.

I stamped the Fish Net image twice on the Note Card using Crumb Cake.  I then stamped the Sea Grass image using Soft Sea Foam, 1st & 2nd generation stamping.  The Octopus was then stamped with Night of Navy.  The sentiment was also stamped with Night of Navy.

Just Add a Gift Box

Just Add A Gift Box is the challenge this week at Just Add Ink.

I designed this gorgeous little gift box to fit a 65g box of GuyLian Chocolates.

The box base and lid are made from Merry Merlot cardstock, however I added Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper and the Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon as a contrast.

The Whisper White decorative trim on the side of the box was made using the Delicate Lace Edgelits.  The top of the lid was decoration on the top of the lid was made using the Healing Hugs stamp set, Foliage Frame Framelits, Frosted Bouquet Framelits, Subtle Embossing Folder and Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

Freshly Made Sketches #368

I am playing along with this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I love this sketch, I was in a bit of a rut of using the same layouts over and over again, this sketch certainly changed that up.
I have used products from the Floral Romance Suite, Wonderful Romance stamp, Wonderful Floral Framelits and the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper, Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon and the Frosted Flower Embellishments.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Happy Birthday

I pondered a while on what background to use for my card and decided on the Gray Granite woodgrain patterned paper from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper pack.  The Gray Granite teamed perfectly with the Highland Heather, Basic Black and Whisper White colour scheme that I had in mind.

I have used several stamp sets and framelits/thinlit sets in making my card:
  • Rooted in Nature stamp set
  • Beautiful Bouquet stamp set
  • Nature's Roots Framelits Dies
  • Sweet Cake Framelits
  • Stitched Labels Framelits
  • Stitched Shaped Framelits
The silver leaves from the Leaves Trinkets add a little dimension to the floral spray behind the sentiment panel.

You're a Classic ....

Another sneak peak of the Classic Garage Suite.

The centre panel has been stamped with Basic Gray ink using the oil smudge image in the stamp set.  The cogs and gears were cut from Silver Foil Sheet using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies and then distressed using StazOn Black ink. This was done by dragging the ink pad over the piece, you do not want it solid black so lightly drag the ink pad across the piece several times.  This way you get the variation in the amount of ink applied to various parts of the cogs and gears.

The car was stamped using StazOn Black ink and coloured using a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  The car was then cut out using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.

To make this card you will need the following:
  • Real Red card base
  • Whisper White cardstock - 9.5cm x 13.8cm
  • Designer Series Paper - 9cm x 13.5cm
  • Read Red cardstock - 10.4cm x 6.4cm
  • Whisper White - 10cm x 6cm

Best Dad

This card is a sneak peak of the Classic Garage suite in the new Occasions Catalogue which is available 3 January 2019.

This suite has some amazing products with the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper, which comes in 6" x 6" with 4 each of 12 double sided designs, Classic Garage Metal Elements (I love these little keys and spanners), Black Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon, Garage Gears Thinlits Dies and the Geared Up Garage stamp set.  There is also a Classic Garage Cardstock Pack which coordinates with the Designer Series Paper.

I love the sentiments in this set and it is so versatile as it can be used for birthdays, father's day and valentines day, how great is that!

If you liked this sneak peak I will be posting another card tomorrow using this Suite of products.

It's A Million Little Things...

I am playing along this week with the Freshly Made Sketches  challenge.
I am using the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper and the Beauty Abounds stamp set for my card.  I love the sentiments in this stamp set and thought that this one was ideal for the sketch in this challenge.

The card base is Highland Heather which coordinates with the piece of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  I have matted this on a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The centre panel is also matted on a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The gorgeous butterfly is punched from another piece of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper using the Butterfly Duet Punch.

To make this card you will need the following:
  • Highland Heather card base
  • Basic Black - 9.5cm x 13.8cm
  • Designer Series Paper - 9cm x 13.5cm
  • Basic Black 10.4cm x 6.4cm
  • Whisper White 10cm x 6cm

Thank You

I love the flowers in the Tropical Chic stamp set.  For my card I inked up the flower image using Balmy Blue, stamped off once and added more Balmy Blue using a Dauber.  This gives the two shades of blue on the flowers.  I then added some black highlights to the flower centres using the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and a Clear Rhinestone.

I did a Balmy Blue watercolour wash on a piece of Watercolor paper before adding a strip of Balmy Blue Designer Series Paper on top of half a Pearlised Doily.  The 'Thank You' sentiment strip was created by stamping the stripe image using Balmy Blue ink and the stamping the word 'Thank You' using Momento Black on top of this.

The leaves were cut from Basic Black, Whisper White and Vellum cardstock.

Christmas Bag

I make my own preserves (jams, pickles and chutney) and needed a little Christmas gift bag to put a jar in to give as a gift.  This is what I came up with using the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, Farmhouse Christmas stamp set and the Farmhouse Framelits.

It is a box in a bag, I just changed the sizing to suit my jar of perserves.

The little tag hanging from the handle was made using the stamp set, dies and also the Sprig Punch.

Beautiful Bouquet

This is the stepped up version of the card I made yesterday using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

I used a normal size card instead of a note card and added a strip of Calypso Coral striped Designer Series Paper from the Subtles Paper Pack and a Basic Black Decorative Ribbon Border strip behind the stamped panel.

The stamping was the same using Old Olive, Calypso Coral and Momento Black ink.

#simplestamping

Hi everyone, I am sharing a card I made for the challenge given to us at the recent OnStage event to make a Thank You card using simple stamping that would be ideal for a beginner stamper.  We had to use:

  1 Stamp Set - Check
Ink (I used 3 as no number defined) - Check
  Note Card - Check
Products from the Annual Catalogue only - Check

Easy you would think, but I am a girl that likes layers and embellishments, so this was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

I decided on the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set as this has a lot of variety in the sentiments and the flowers and stems that can be stamped.

I stamped the leaf image using Old Olive ink and then added the flowers using Calypso Coral.  I used the stamping off technique for the lighter shaded flowers.  What a great way to add contrast in the colours of your flowers using the one ink pad and at the same time showing this easy technique.  The accents to the flowers were stamped using Momento Black which I also used for the 'Thank You'.

I added some Clear Rhinestones to finish my card as I think a beginner stamper would love to add a bit of bling to their card.

I will be sharing a card tomorrow that has this card stepped up slightly which would be great for the occasional stamper.

Just Add Ink #433 - "Colour"

I am playing along this week with the Just Add Ink Colour challenge.  The challenge is to use the colours of Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.

I have used colour blocking for the background and coloured the image for my card using a blender pen and Classic Stampin' Pads in the colours of the challenge.

The image is from the Amazing Life stamp set (this is the set that those who attended OnStage last weekend received, so it is a little sneak peak) and was perfect for this challenge as I was able to colour the word 'Cake' and the cake to match the background colours.

Don't forget the inside of your card.  I have stamped the 'Happy Birthday' image and then the "YAY!" which I then coloured with the blender pen and the Classic Stampin' Pads.

I will admit that these colours were right out of my comfort zone, but I am happy with how the finished card turned out.

Christmas Pines One Sheet Wonder - Hexagon Box

I have seen several of these little gift boxes on Pinterest but I am not sure who first designed it, so whomever did you thank you very much.  The one that I found was made from a piece of 4 1/2 by 6" piece of Designer Series Paper with the finished box being quite small.

I re-designed the box making it larger so that base of the box is 2 1/4" with the height being 2".  It fits 5 small round soaps perfectly or you can put in 6 wrapped toffees, or a piece of jewellery or money.

Cut a piece of  Cherry Cobbler cardstock 8” x 5” (you will get 2 boxes from one piece of A4 cardstock).

Score on the 8” edge at 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 3 ¾”, 5”, 6 ¼” & 7 ½”
Score on the 5” edge at 1 ½” & 3 ½”

Measure 5/8” between each 1 ¼” panel (this is the centre point) and score from this point on the diagonal to where the first horizontal score line meets the vertical score lines (see picture below).

Snip the vertical score lines from the bottom to the bottom horizontal score line (see picture).

Cut away the small corner (this is at the bottom of the ½” strip on the edge) this is not required (see picture).

Fold and burnish all the score lines.

Cut 6 pieces of 1 1/8” x 1 7/8” DSP and adhere these to the box sides.

Join the sides of the box together and make sure that the diagonal folds on the top are burnished.

Punch a hole in each diagonal flap using the 1/8" handheld circle punch.  This is for the Baker's Twine.

Join the bottom of the box together.

Cut two pieces of Baker's Twine, one Cherry Cobbler an one Very Vanilla, about 18" long. Thread the Baker's Twine through the holes, add your soap or toffees and close the top of the box with a bow.   Tie a knot in each end of the Baker's Twine.

To decorate die cut the Fern using Mossy Meadow cardstock, the Leaves using Old Olive cardstock and the small foliage using Gold Glimmer Paper.

Stamp the "May the Simple Joys of the Season Be Yours" on a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark ink, add White Embossing Powder and heat set.  Cut out using the 2nd smallest Oval in the Stitched Shaped Framelits.

Layer the leaves and foliage on the box front before placing the sentiment oval on top.
